Also known as: Urdhva Hastasana, Standing arms up palms together.

Technique

  1. Standing with the feet together and legs engaged, arms resting at the sides with palms facing inward.
  2. Inhale and sweep the arms out to the sides and up to meet each other palms together.
  3. Look up to the thumbs as the hands meet.
  4. Exhale to sweep the arms back to the starting position.

Form tips

  • Extend out through the fingertips as you move, engaging the arms fully with the movement.
  • If shoulders are tight, do not bring hands together at the top, but rather reach them straight up.
