Also known as: Bird on hand.

Technique

  1. The base lies face up and the flyer stands over the base’s hips, facing the base.
  2. The base extends the elbows in front of the face and angles the palms towards the flyer, who leans into the base’s hands.
  3. The base lands the hands around the flyer’s hips, with the thumbs, index and middle fingers on the front of the hips and the ring and little fingers on the sides.
  4. The flyer lifts the chest, keeps the spine neutral and lifts the feet to complete the balance.
  5. To exit, reverse the process.

Form tips

  • Hand placement on the flyer’s hips depends on the pair, such as the size of the base’s hands, the width of the flyer’s hips and the height difference, so find what feels comfortable for both of you.
