Technique
- The base lies face up while the flyer stands at the base’s feet, facing the base.
- The base places the feet on the flyer’s shins.
- With a Clasped hand grip, the partners find a shared Tempo; when ready, the flyer leans over the base’s torso while the base extends the legs into an L-base, and the flyer bends the knees to 90 degrees, all in one continuous motion.
- The base brings the knees to 90 degrees and extends again, essentially leg-pressing the flyer.
- To exit, reconnect at the hands and the base bends the knees to lower the flyer safely to the ground.
Form tips
- The effort in the continuous entry should be shared evenly: the flyer takes a slight lift into the movement and the base does not pull on the flyer’s arms. Think of “rocking” into it.
- The base splits the toes two and three on each side of the flyer’s shin.
- Once on the base’s feet, the flyer adducts the thighs and keeps the hips, chest and gaze forward.
- Do not release the hands until you feel stable.
